Things to Do
MacTaggart Sanctuary is a hidden gem on the south side of 23rd Avenue. The parking lot is unmarked, but when you park the car and find the river valley at the fork of Whitemud and Blackmud Creeks, you're met with hiking trails that challenge any level. It's so preserved in its natural state that tree roots serve as staircases. Along your walk, you'll likely meet birders and fellow hikers or the occasional owl or lynx.
